From the First Moment.
Harold and Ida Markman opened their first jewelry store in October 1976. Their plan was to provide their customers with the "best quality and best service at the best price." While this is an idea that a lot of companies claim is their goal, Markman's made this the foundation of their business. This concept is an ongoing promise shared also by their son, Steve Markman, who joined the team in 1978.
As will happen when a business fulfills its promises, customers have continued to make Markman's their source for family special occasions. Parents and grandparents purchase those first jewelry pieces for their children and their children's children. Markman's has inadvertently given birth to family keepsakes and heirlooms over the years through the thoughtful purchases made by its customers to give to those they love. Our customers continue to return to Markman's for their jewelry needs and encourage others to visit our stores as well. When you see a gift box with a Markman's the logo, you know something special is inside.
Because the knowledge of Markman's dedication to quality and service to their customers became known throughout East Tennessee, Markman's Jewelry expanded to an additional location in Chatanooga Tennessee in 1978. Located outside the Hamilton Place Mall, the Chattanooga store offers the same high level of service and customer satisfaction as found in the original Knoxville store.
Like the Knoxville flagship store, the Chattanooga store continues its promise of providing the best quality and best service at the best price. In order to do this, the tradition of training each employee to follow the methods of service established by Harold Markman has and will continue. The expectation of employees is to provide service with knowledge and true caring commitment.
